Open Adobe Photoshop on your computer.  We need to make sure that the school license is applied to your account and the software is updated.

Assignment - 

Answer the questions on the last page in a Google Doc and share it with me. Question 4 requires you to look on your computer for the correct version. Use your Google login to sign-in to Adobe Photoshop. 1. Two types of digital images. Raster (99% of images) vs Vector (simple artwork like our Griffin) - All about vector images

4. Megapixel - One megapixel refers to one million pixels, which are small squares of information that combine to make up an image. So, if a camera has a resolution of eight megapixels, it would be able to capture images with about eight million tiny squares of information per inch

   • - ​Gigapixel - 1 billion pixels per inch. Look at this EXAMPLE 195 gigapixels!​

• Terapixel = 1000 Gigapixels!

Make a new folder (right-click - new folder) on your desktop called Graphics Class and save all files there. Add this assignment to your portfolio when you finish.  Remember to save as a .PSD & .JPG file.

Upload them all to your Google Slides.  Put the original photo next to the photoshopped photo and label what you did to the photo. Failure to put both will cost you 50%.

1. Photo 1 - Expand the photo (crop tool, hold ALT and drag the photo sideways, double click to lock it in) Add (lasso tool where you want the object) add a mountain lion, hiker, some type of bird, and (realistic looking) three other things. 50 points

2. Photo 2 - Add a shark, jet ski, and two more things. (creative) 50 points

3. Photo 3 - You need to find a school appropriate photo and add five things to it.  Show me the before and after. 100 points

• You need to submit the picture with two different filters on the photo. Save as jpgs for a total of 2 pictures.

• You will need to apply two different filters to the photo. You may need to adjust the image quality too. You will be graded on creativity and the quality of the photo. IE blurry, dark, detail etc.

Given some examples and your knowledge of layers, create a solo template for the Varsity Basketball teams. 300 points (If you do not use the color code for school colors below and BVCSD clipart you will not get ANY points. (No redo if you don't read this)

• Step 1- Locate the folder named FONTS, highlight all the files, right-click and INSTALL

• Step 2 - Locate the BASKETBALL folder on your desktop in a folder called Lanschool Files. You need to pick one template that you will modify. Open it and save it as your name basketball.

• Step 3 - You will have one last folder in the Lanschool location called PNG BOQUET VALLEY CLIPART FILES, you will need these for your template. You must use at least one BVCSD clipart image. (-1/2 if not used) 

• Step 4 - You may need to search Google for the "pieces" to make this template look amazing. Remember to search for transparent PNG files. 
   

Remember you need to save as a PSD and JPG. Please add the JPG to your portfolio

1. Make usual photographs look different, or add extra meaning to them, by simply cutting out some silhouette on a sheet of paper and taking a shot through it.

2. Find a silhouette on Google and cut it out.  Next, use it to take a photograph with a background. You can choose harmonic combinations, like shooting nature through shapes of animals, or go for contrast and shoot some highly technogenic landscapes through shapes of trees.
