  6. Respect all people in the classroom.

  7. Students will be allowed 3 bathroom/locker passes per 10 weeks. If a student does not use any of the three, they may trade them for for 15 bonus points.

  8. Remain in your seat until the bell rings. Students who gather by the door must remain in the room until all other students have left.

  9. Electronic devices are not allowed.

  10. Do not print material unless I give you permission. You have a limited number of printouts.

  11. Straighten your area before leaving.  Push in your chair, close all programs you were working in, and throw away all trash in area.

  12. Leave the computer the way you found it.  Do not change system files on the computer.  This includes changing screen savers, icons, and settings.  Do not download or install programs without my permission.

  13. Do not go online unless I instruct you to.  If you find an inappropriate site immediately close out of it.

  14. Keep your hands on your own computers.

  15. One person at a time leaves the room with a hall pass.

  16. Clean your work station appropriately.  Pick up after yourself before you leave

  17. Use polite and appropriate language! Offensive, derogatory, and profane terms are not tolerated.  In order to have a safe classroom environment where all students feel comfortable, no put downs, swear words, or slang words with demeaning connotations will be accepted.  Remember, if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it at all!

Attendance --This is a hands-on applications course. The only way to perfect your skills in through practice which means regular attendance is necessary. It is the student's responsibility to complete any work missed during an absence.

Student's who miss one or more days of school must, upon return to school:

1. contact instructor to determine work missed. First check website.

2. complete all tests missed within a reasonable time (see instructor for clarification)-

3. you get a day for each you are absent to complete missed work, after that you will lose 10 points per day on the assignment.

Tests that are not made up within this period will receive a grade of F

Promptness to class --If you are late for class without a pass you will be given one warning. I expect that you will be in your seat when the bell sounds. Two tardy arrivals to class will be equivalent to one detention.

Care of Equipment --Expensive equipment such as we have in the computer labs and technology suite requires careful treatment. Any maltreatment of equipment will result in consequences. Tools and other materials must be put away correctly after each use. No food or drink in the computer lab/ technology suite - no exceptions.

Class Work and Homework --Professional quality work is expected. All class work is to be handed in on the assigned date. Students may have three days outside class (with permission from instructor...me!) to hand in an assignment without penalty. There is a five point penalty per day for late work. If you are absent or need additional time in addition to regular class time, the lab is open during various times through out the day.

The Boquet Valley Central School District is committed to a high standard of academic integrity in the academic community. In becoming a part of the academic community, students are responsible for honesty and independent effort. Failure to uphold these standards includes, but is not limited to, the following: plagiarizing written work or projects, cheating on exams or assignments, and collusion on an exam or project. Cheating includes looking at or copying from another student’s exam, orally communicating or receiving answers during an exam, having another person take an exam or complete a project or assignment, using unauthorized notes, texts, or other materials for an exam, and obtaining or distributing an unauthorized copy of an exam or any part of an exam. Plagiarism means passing off as his/her own the ideas or writings of another (that is, without giving proper credit by documenting sources). Plagiarism includes submitting a paper, report or project that someone else has prepared, in whole or in part. Collusion is inappropriately collaborating on assignments designed to be completed independently. These definitions are not exhaustive. When there is clear evidence of cheating, plagiarism, collusion or misrepresentation, the instructor will take disciplinary action including but not limited to: requiring the student to retake or resubmit an exam or assignment, assigning a grade of zero or “F” for an exam or assignment; or assigning a grade of “F” for the course.

Behavior in class --Only mature and responsible behavior will be accepted in the technology suite and computer lab. Use of any foul language will result in loss of work/computer use for a given time! Respect your classmates and their property. Students are expected to be on time for class. Being late disrupts the lecture and your fellow students. The instructor has the right to take reasonable measures to ensure a class period free of disruptions.

Software Piracy -- Law strictly prohibits unauthorized copying of software purchased by BVCSD for use in laboratories. BVCSD administration will take appropriate disciplinary action against anyone violating copyright laws.

If you are given strike 2, this will result in 10 points and strike 3 is 20 points off this 100. You may earn these points back by doing a current event essay. Each essay is worth 5 points.
